We're already almost halfway through March? How the hell did that happen?
Michelle gave me my birthday present early: the first two seasons of Quantum Leap. Man, I loved that show. I still kinda wanna be Dr. Sam Beckett.
And holy crap, I'd forgotten how '80s Al's outfits truly were. Seriously, what the hell is up with the coats he wore all the freakin' time? It's like they cut up some of those thermal emergency blankets (the ones that look like they're made out of tinfoil).
We've got our car back from the shop now. The body shop did good work; you can't even tell that the car was in an accident.
Only a couple of weeks until Clif's wedding. I'm practicing my guitar playing for the occasion.

"Driver, Surprise Me"
So last week was sorta the week from hell.
First, had a meeting at school where I was essentially told I was a crappy teacher, but was not told exactly why (still not really sure on that count). Then, was told at the tutoring job that part of my job was now housekeeping: we have to clean the tutoring center at the end of the day each day, which kinda lame.
The worst bit, though, was on the way home from tutoring. I accidentally rear-ended an SUV. Did zero damage to them, folded the hood of my car like a tin foil tent.
It got worse from there. We had to rent a car on Saturday because there wasn't a car available to borrow from a relative. That night, I forgot to put a parking pass in the rental, and it got towed.
Needless to say, I spent a good chunk of Sunday having something like a nervous breakdown. I'm pretty fed up with work stuff, and decidedly not interested in returning to the school again next year. I'm also pretty damn frustrated with myself over the car stuff, which is expensive (though not as bad as it could be, since we only have to pay our deductible on the car), and apparently we won't have our car back until sometime next week according to the autobody shop...which, of course, means we have to keep the rental car for another week.
On the positive side, I spoke with my dad yesterday and discovered that we are, unlike last year, receiving a nice tax refund this year. So hurray for that.
Going on the school ski trip on Thursday. Thank goodness the school's payin', 'cause hey, I get to go skiing.
Anyway, I really just want to get through the rest of this month. Really.

"Getting My Gray Hair Beside You"
Two years ago today, Michelle and I got married. Hard to believe it's already been two years.
So yeah, that's pretty awesome.

"One Big Holiday"
We managed to survive the holidays, though not without casualties: Michelle's been sick since the day after Christmas, which caused our New Year's celebration to be cut short (apparently vomiting up lots of mucus is cause for concern? I dunno).
Regardless, it's been nice to have some time off. I actually feel rested, which is a unique treat. I'm sure this feeling of ease and restfulness will come to an abrupt end Monday morning, but for now I feel rather nice.
Chad was in town this week and spent a couple of days with us. Of course, since Michelle was sick, that meant we mostly sat around and watched DVDs. In fact, we watched the entire 11th season of the Simpsons yesterday. I'm not sure whether or not I should be proud of that fact.
The cats have loved having us home so much. They don't really alter their behavior any, it's just that they have us to sit on for several hours a day, and that's grand.
One of Michelle's Christmas presents was a Sim City collection. She's spent most of the past week playing Sim City 4. I may have to stage an intervention.
